A 7 day pill organizer is one of those small things that makes a week feel more put together. You fill it once, and every morning and every night you know exactly which little door to open. If you’ve been looking at weekly organizers and wondering how they actually work, what sizes make sense, or why some lids slide while others snap, this guide walks through it all, using our own AM/PM boxes as the example.
I’m Will, and I print every USACUTTIE box to order in the USA, so a lot of what’s below comes straight from the questions customers send me.

βοΈπ The short version
Seven connected days, MON to SUN. Every day has a morning side and a night side. One sliding lid per day: slide it one way for AM, the other way for PM, and the engraved sun and moon show you which is which.
What is a 7 day pill organizer?
It’s a case with one section for each day of the week, Monday through Sunday. Simple versions have a single compartment per day. AM/PM versions, like ours, split every day into two: one for the morning and one for the evening. That gives you 14 small compartments in one row, so the whole week sits in front of you at a glance.
Ours are made as seven connected daily boxes in one line, MON to SUN, so the order is always the same and nothing gets shuffled around in a drawer.
How a 7 day pill organizer works, step by step

1. Seven days in a row. Each day is printed with its name, so Monday is always on the left and Sunday on the right. You read it like a calendar.
2. Two compartments per day. Every day has an AM side and a PM side, separated by a little wall. Fill them once a week, and the week is ready to go.
3. Sliding lids. Instead of tiny flip-tops, each day has one sliding lid. Push it from its end one way to open the morning side, and the other way to open the night side. No fiddling with hinges. We reworked the lid fit after customer feedback, so they now slide smoothly and close firmly, which matters when the box rides in a bag or coat pocket.
4. Sun and moon icons. Every lid has a sun on the morning end and a moon on the night end, so you can tell AM from PM without reading any small print. With a Special Mix, the sun and moon can even be their own colors, like a gold sun and an ivory moon.

Picking the right size
Size is the question we get most. Here is how our three sizes compare:
Small
6.7β³ long, 1.9β³ wide, 0.6β³ deep. Slim enough for a purse, and a nice fit for vitamins and smaller tablets.
Medium
9.6β³ long, 2.7β³ wide, 0.9β³ deep. The everyday size most people choose.
Large
9.6β³ long, 2.7β³ wide, 1.2β³ deep. The most room per compartment, for bigger capsules, gummies or several items per dose.
Customers often tell us the box is roomier than it looks in photos. If you’re between two sizes, think about what goes in your largest compartment, and compare it with the depth above. For a deeper comparison, read our guide to choosing the right pill organizer size.
Setting up your week
Most people pick one moment a week to refill, often Sunday evening. A few things make it quicker:
- Same time, same place. Refilling at the same spot each week turns it into a two-minute habit instead of a chore.
- Work left to right. Open every AM side first, fill MON to SUN, then switch to the PM side and repeat.
- Keep it where you’ll see it. A nightstand, the kitchen counter next to the coffee maker, or your bag. A box you like looking at is a box you don’t tuck away.
- Travel smart. If you’re away for the week, the whole row comes with you. Our travel pill organizer guide has packing tips.

What to look for when you shop
- Lids that stay shut. Give the lid a test slide, or read reviews about bags and purses.
- Clear day labels. Engraved or printed-in labels last longer than stickers.
- Compartment size. Check the depth, not just the length.
- Easy care. Hand washing in warm, soapy water works best for 3D printed boxes; a dishwasher’s heat can warp them.
- Colors you actually like. It sits out every day, so it may as well make you smile.

FAQ
What does AM/PM mean on a 7 day pill organizer?
Each day has two compartments: AM for morning and PM for night. On our boxes, a sun marks the morning end of each lid and a moon marks the night end.
How do the sliding lids work?
Each day has one lid. Push it from its end one way to open the morning side and the other way to open the night side, then slide it back to close. The sun and moon on the lid show you which side is which.
Which size should I get?
Small is slim and portable, Medium suits everyday use, and Large has the most room per compartment. Our size guide compares them in detail.
How do I clean it?
Hand wash in warm, soapy water and let it dry fully. Skip the dishwasher, since high heat can warp 3D printed material.
Can I add a name?
Yes. You can add a name or a few special words, engraved right into the box so it won’t fade. Pick the engraving option when you design yours.
How long does it take to arrive?
Each box is printed to order in 1β2 days, then ships. Shipping is free on orders over $35.
